Problem Statement
Store customers, who wish to gain the most of their shopping, need a way to get a more personal shopping experience, because due to the many alternatives out there they will eventually shop at the business that will offer them the most value at the most affordable prices.
Store owners, who wish to gain the most of their marketing budget, need a way to get a more relevant data on their customers and a way to automate their marketing, because the more accurate they can get, the more profit they gain.
The solution team, who wishes to sell this product, needs a way to offer clients and prospects a well-designed solution, because clients and prospects feel more related to well-designed products and thus sell better.
User Research
  • I carried out a guerrilla user research and interviews at different stores to discover the actual everyday needs and usage of the app.
  • I discussed my findings together with a solution architect and colleagues, and identified the main persona and the
    red-route user flow.

Wireframes
I designed the wireframes according to the main persona's needs.

Testing
I tested the app on potential users to see if they are familiar with its patterns and components as well as to determine if the flows and navigation are functioning as intended.
Pain Point
As emerged from the tests, for some users it took too long to find how and switch between different customers, that sometimes require the shop assistant's attention at once.
Solution
I added a large, simple and easy to find menu that is accessible with just a single tap from anywhere in the app, where all the current active costumers are shown.
With it, the shop assistant will be able to easily and fast browse through the customers whom he assists at the moment.
This feature is especially important due to the fast-paced environment of some stores, as shown from the field on-location research.

UI Design
One of the requests of this app was making it easy to adjust to different clients and prospects. I gave it a white label design, with elements such as buttons, bars, tags and font colors simple to change in Sketch, even by future non-designers.

Results
The app received good reviews and was the team's best-selling product in the years 2017-2019.
